What's new in v7.0

SquaredUp DS for SCOM v7.0 includes the following new features:

New UI and navigation

The new left-hand navigation bar maximizes the available space, allowing you to focus on what matters, your data and visualizations. The nav bar can also be collapsed, while still giving easy access to the home button, search and favorites menu.

Folders now open within the nav bar, so they no longer obscure your data. Inline actions allow you to add dashboards and folders at the folder level from the nav bar, and folder details are easily accessible.

The System menu, available from the bottom of the left-hand nav bar System > Administration, has been structured with menus and sub-menus, so you can more easily find the settings you need.

VMware Integration

The new VMware Integration, available with the EAM-X edition license, connects over HTTPS to your vSphere environment using the VMware SDK.

The VMware tile includes 10 visualizations to allow you to show health, performance and object property data from common VMware object types like host system, virtual machines, datastores, clusters, network and more.

VMware Donut tiles default to showing Health State, but can be configured as a general purpose donut using VMware object properties. For example, it’s possible to show VM health status in one donut and a count of VMs by OS type in another. This is achieved via the Data Mapping panel in this donut, along with some default custom colors for health states.

The VMware Grid tile shows rows of data such as Name, Status, Connection State, Uptime etc. Users can search the grid, and temporarily change the column size and sorting of the grid (by clicking on the column headers) without having to access the settings.

The VMware Alarms tile shows details of the alarms in a grid format, showing information such as State, Target Type, time and date raised etc.
