How to make a user a SQL sysadmin

  1. In Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, expand Security, then expand Logins.
  2. Right-click on Logins and select New Login. If your user already has a login listed here, go to the Properties of this user.
  3. Click on Server Roles.
  4. Check sysadmin so that it is ticked.
  5. Click OK.
