How to reactivate your license

When SquaredUp have modified your license, for example you have renewed, upgraded your license or purchased more named users, you will need to reactivate the license for the changes to take effect. These instructions apply if you have been told to use the same license activation key as before.

If you have been sent a new license activation key, if for example your license expired before you were able to renew, you should enter the new key on the activation screen (see How to activate your license) when prompted when you open SquaredUp DS.

If your web server cannot connect to the internet then you will need to reactivate offline in the same way as activating offline (see How to activate your license offline (manual activation)).

Use this article if you have been asked to reactivate an existing license activation key.

Reactivating your license on SquaredUp DS v4.1 and above

  1. Log in to SquaredUp DS as a SCOM Admin (see Types of users in SquaredUp DS). If you have more than one SquaredUp server and both licenses have been updated, then you will need to log on to each server to reactivate the Primary and Secondary licenses in turn.
  2. Browse to the right-hand menu ☰ > system > licensing.
  3. In the Active License section at the top of the page click on the reactivate button.
  4. Click confirm. If your web server cannot connect to the internet then you will be prompted to carry out an offline reactivation (see How to activate your license offline (manual activation)).
  5. If necessary log on to your Secondary server to reactivate the Secondary license.

Reactivating your license on SquaredUp DS v4.0

  1. Log in to SquaredUp DS as a SCOM Admin user (see Types of users in SquaredUp DS). If you have more than one SquaredUp server and both licenses have been updated, then you will need to log on to each server to reactivate the Primary and Secondary licenses in turn.
  2. Browse to http://SquaredUpServer/SquaredUpv4/Activate where SquaredUpServer is the name of the server where SquaredUp DS is installed.
  3. Copy the license key displayed in the blue box. Check this is the license key you have been asked to reactivate. (Do not click the Next button).
  4. Important: Click enter a new key. (Clicking Next will not reactivate the key and any modifications to the license will not take effect).
  5. Paste in the license activation key.

  6. Click Activate.
    If your server cannot connect to the internet to activate, then an offline activation is required (see How to activate your license offline (manual activation)).
  7. Complete the Setup wizard by clicking Next, Next, Next then Import.
  8. If necessary log on to your Secondary server to reactivate the Secondary license.

Following activation

Browse to your SquaredUp DS instance.

If you used the downloadable installer:

By default, the URL to your SquaredUp DS instance is: http://SquaredUpServer/SquaredUpInstance

SquaredUpServer is the name of the server where SquaredUp DS is installed.

By default, SquaredUpInstance is SquaredUp. For v5 it is SquaredUpv5 and for v4 SquaredUpv4. If you gave your SquaredUp DS instance a different application name when you installed it, use the name you chose.

On the server it would be http://localhost/SquaredUp
