SquaredUp Cloud Provider

A SquaredUp DS EAM edition license (or above) and a SquaredUp Cloud Enterprise license are required for this feature. To upgrade please contact [email protected]

A SquaredUp Cloud provider allows you to link SquaredUp DS for SCOM to your SquaredUp Cloud instance using the SquaredUp Cloud tile.

What are Integrations?

SquaredUp DS Integrations allow you to create your own providers. Each Integration has its own form to help you input the information required for different providers.

What is a provider?

Providers contain the connection details to external platforms. A provider only needs to be set up once and can then be used when creating tiles on a dashboard.

There are two types of integrations and therefore providers:

  • generic Web API providers that can connect to any REST API
  • dedicated providers that connect to a specific external platform or database (SQL, ServiceNow, Azure Active App Insights, Elasticsearch, etc.)

Sign up to SquaredUp Cloud with an Enterprise license

  1. Go to the EAM-X sign-up page, enter your email address at the bottom of the page and click Sign Up. You will be redirected to SquaredUp Cloud.
  2. Create an account in SquaredUp Cloud. Your SquaredUp Cloud account includes 3 users.
  3. Contact Sales to upgrade to a full EAM-X license. The Extension Management Pack for SCOM needs an API Key which can be created in SquaredUp Cloud using the steps below.

The SquaredUp Cloud tile can be used alongside the Extension Management pack, see EAM-X.

About SquaredUp Cloud providers

You need to create a SquaredUp Cloud provider, in SquaredUp DS, before you can use the SquaredUp Cloud tile.

If you have more than one SquaredUp Cloud instance you can create a provider for each.

Adding a provider is a one-time configuration task, and once the provider has been configured it can be used each time you configure a tile.

Adding a SquaredUp Cloud provider

  1. In SquaredUp DS navigate to the right-hand menu ☰ > system > Integrations

  2. Under Integrations click SquaredUp Cloud.
  3. In the name box type in a suitable provider name, e.g. SquaredUp Cloud Production
  4. Select the region where the tenant is located.
  5. In SquaredUp Cloud create an API key. For this, a Cloud Enterprise License is required.
    1. Click on Settings > API Keys > Create new API Key.
    2. Enter a name and description so you can identify this key at a later point, for example, this could be the name of your SCOM Management Group.
    3. Save the generated key in a safe place as you will not be able to access it again from this page.
  6. In the SquaredUp Cloud provider settings on DS, paste the key into the API key box.
  7. Click Save.

To use the SquaredUp Cloud provider in a tile see SquaredUp Cloud tile
