How to configure Dashboard Server to use a proxy
If you use a proxy server you may get an error when activating Dashboard Server or configuring an OAuth Web API provider.
This provider has not been authorized (or there is an error with its configuration)
You need to configure Dashboard Server to use the proxy, as described below. This will configure Dashboard Server to use the proxy settings from Internet Explorer. For more information see the defaultProxy element article from Microsoft.
Adding a proxy to the web.config

Name of the SquaredUp folder
The name of the SquaredUp folder is
SquaredUpvfollowed by the
product version number.
Location of the SquaredUp folder
The default location for the SquaredUp folder is
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SquaredUpv[Version Number], but a custom location may have been chosen during the installation.
For example, for Dashboard Server v5 the default folder location is
C:\inetpub\wwwroot\SquaredUpv5and for v4
Create a backup of the
web.configfile by copy and pasting the file to a different location.
Open the original
web.configfile with Notepad.
Add the following XML snippet under the
<configuration>section of the
<proxy usesystemdefault="true" />
- If your proxy uses Active Directory for authentication, the responsible team will need to give your Dashboard Server application pool user(s) access.
